    FOCAL (Switzerland)

Meet your Inspiration is a special programme on the occasion of the European Film Awards in Switzerland. FOCAL connects Swiss film professionals with members of the European Film Academy who inspire them. These exchanges, conceived in form of mentorships, were an opportunity for emerging talents to meet well-known professionals in their fields of expertise. Two encounters between mentees and mentors have been arranged throughout 2024, a “shadowing” session during which the mentees were able to accompany and observe their mentors at work. This took place in various European countries, from London to Oslo, and from Athens to Berlin. The second meeting followed as part of the European Film Awards in Lucerne in December 2024.

The following Academy Members and Swiss mentees took part in 2024:

Xavier “Xavi” Font and Silvio Buchmeier (Original Score Composing)
Ole Birkeland and Pascal Reinmann (Cinematography)
Hoyte van Hoytema and Laura Morales (Cinematography)
Robert Hefter and Andrea Padovan (Sound Post Production)
Sebastian Schipper and Lia von Blarer (Acting/Screenwriting/Directing)
