Liège-Guillemins train station (Liège, Belgium)
The train station of Liège-Guillemins is an astonishing piece of architecture designed by the famous Catalan architect Santiago Calatrava.
It is made of steel, glass and white concrete and includes a monumental arch, 160 metres long and 32 metres high.

The station has featured in various films, among them the 2008 drama LORNA’S SILENCE by the Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne about a young Albanian woman living in Belgium, in a sham marriage with a drug addict named Claudy, or TIED by Hélène Fillières and starring Benoît Poelvoorde and Laetitia Casta.
Today, Liège-Guillemins is one of the busiest train stations in the Wallonia Region. It’s also an important railway hub for high-speed trains. Eurostar, ICE and InterCity trains easily connect the city of Liège with Germany, France, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
