The public institution Cultural Centre Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo was founded in 1960 by the municipality of Bijelo Polje as an institution of public interest in the field of culture. It plays a central role in the cultural life of Bijelo Polje and serves as the main organizer and co-ordinator of cultural events in the city. Over the years, through its work and communication with the public, the Cultural Centre has built a reputation as a successful institution, with a programmatic focus on promoting the values of an open and democratic society, while fostering collaboration with local, national, and international artists and institutions. The Cultural Centre Vojislav Bulatović Strunjo strives, through its programming, to be recognized not only locally but also on the national cultural map by developing, enriching, and affirming the city’s cultural identity in accordance with the principles of multi-culturalism. The work of the Cultural Centre is organized into several programme areas, carried out through its various organizational units: the public library, the Bijelo Polje Theatre, the folk dance ensemble Tekstilac, as well as other segments including the cinema, the literary club Miodrag Bulatović, the city reading room, the city choir, the mobile library (Infobus), and the cultural, artistic, and scientific magazine Odzivi.
