SPAIN: Van Golem, Burgos
When the Van Dyck company from Castile-Leon and the GOLEM company from Navarre joined forces – two highly reputable and well-established film companies – they built the six-screen VAN GOLEM cinema complex in Burgos in 1992, the first such complex to exist in the city. The place grew in popularity to become a benchmark film theatre and meeting venue in Burgos as it sought to fulfil its main purpose, which was none other than to bring cinema culture to the people of the city by screening all the latest releases. With 920 seats in total, its six screens are equipped with the latest technological advancements in terms of image, sound and comfort.
As a member of the Europa Cinemas network, VAN GOLEM not only shows major commercial releases but also smaller productions from various film industries around the world, with a particular focus on European cinema. Its committed approach to understanding cinema based on a desire to build ties with the audience goes beyond industry trends to develop its own curated programmes, thematic film series and festivals.
