    16 further feature films have been added to the European Film Awards’ Feature Film Selection

    16 further feature films have been added by the European Film Academy to the European Film Awards’ Feature Film Selection. With the already announced 29 films, the shortlist comprises 45 strong European feature films. They have been selected by the European Film Academy Board – consulted by a diverse range of European invited experts. The nominations for the European Film Awards will be revealed on 5 November.  

    The European Film Awards honour the greatest achievements in European cinema. This year the awards ceremony takes place on 7 December in Lucerne. With 28 European countries represented – both EU and non-EU – the selection reflects the great diversity in European cinema.  

    These are the additional titles in the Feature Film Selection:

    • CONCLAVE directed by Edward Berger (UK, USA) 
    • HARD TRUTHS directed by Mike Leigh (UK, Spain) 
    • HARVEST directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari (UK, Germany, Greece, France, USA) 
    • MISERICORDIA directed by Emma Dante (Italy) 
    • MOON directed by Kurdwin Ayub (Austria) 
    • MR. K directed by Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab (Netherlands, Belgium) 
    • MY FATHERS’ DAUGHTER directed by Egil Pedersen (Norway, Sweden, Finland) 
    • QUEER directed by Luca Guadagnino (Italy, USA) 
    • THE END directed by Joshua Oppenheimer (Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, UK, Sweden)

    In the coming weeks, the 5,000 members of the European Film Academy will watch the selected films and vote on the nominations in the categories ‘European Film’, ‘European Director’, ‘European Actress’, European Actor’, ‘European Screenwriter’ and ‘European Documentary’. Based on the votes of all members, the nominations will be made public on 5 November 2024. The members of the European Film Academy will then vote for the winner who will be announced on 7 December 2024 in Lucerne. 

    The selection is based on the Diversity & Inclusion Standards of the European Film Academy. 

    The ceremony of the European Film Awards – the most renowned and prestigious award for European film – is presented by the European Film Academy and European Film Academy Production gGmbH.
