Accreditation to the European Film Awards is limited to people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or who have recovered after a Covid-19 infection – provided they do not show typical Covid-19 symptoms.

A proof of vaccination or recovery must be digitally verifiable with an EU Digital COVID Certificate – printed QR codes are also digitally verifiable.

The mask requirement and the requirement to maintain a minimum distance will then no longer apply indoors.

By submitting the accreditation form, the media representative accepts and agrees to the following:

The entered and transmitted personal data will be stored in the European Film Academy database and used to contact you in connection with the accreditation process and for information purposes concerning the European Film Awards.

Representative’s name, media outlet and country may be passed on to other accredited media representatives, to our partners, sponsors and funding institutions, as well as to the agents of the nominees and winners of the European Film Awards. Furthermore, this information may be stored in order to fulfill our reporting obligations to the funding institutions and for other statistical evaluation.

Other personal data will be deleted as soon as the purpose for retaining such data ceases to apply, i.e. four weeks after the European Film Awards took place. Notwithstanding the generality of the foregoing, data may be stored if required by Union of Member State law to which we are subject.

Data will also be blocked or deleted if a retention period prescribed by laws and regulations expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion of fulfillment of a contract.

The European Film Academy announces the nominations in the category “EUROPEAN SHORT FILM – Prix Vimeo”

Today the European Film Academy revealed the nominees of the European Short Film category. With the announcement the Academy enters a partnership with Vimeo, the innovative video experience platform for creators and enterprises. The cooperation aims to encourage a cultural dialogue and showcases the layered richness of European cinema. Vimeo will serve as the exclusive title sponsor of the European Short Film category, renaming it to “EUROPEAN SHORT FILM – Prix Vimeo”. Furthermore, the European Film Academy welcomes Vimeo “Staff Picks”, a curated selection of exceptional short films from the Vimeo community, on the website of the European Film Awards. With new curated videos added each week, the Academy highlights achievements in short filmmaking year-round. Since 2008 Vimeo’s “Staff Picks” have helped the careers of celebrated directors, inspired millions, and built a global community of storytellers.

The category “EUROPEAN SHORT FILM – Prix Vimeo” is organised by the European Film Academy in co-operation with a series of film festivals across Europe. At each of these festivals, an independent jury presented one of the European short films in competition with a candidacy. Out of the complete list of 28 candidates, the participating festivals nominated five films for the European Film Awards.

The films nominated in the category EUROPEAN SHORT FILM – Prix Vimeo are:

Further nominations in the categories “European Film”, “European Director”, “European Actress”, “European Actor”, “European Screenwriter”, “European Documentary” and “European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI” will be made public on 5 November 2024. The members of the European Film Academy will vote for the winners who will be announced on 7 December 2024 in Lucerne.

The selection is based on the Diversity & Inclusion Standards of the European Film Academy.

The ceremony of the European Film Awards – the most renowned and prestigious award for European film – is presented by the European Film Academy and European Film Academy Productions gGmbH.
